Hi, nice to meet you and welcome to my blog :D

Diary ღ 26 May 2015 ღ

WHAT?! My last baking was 20 days ago!
Busy with my part-time job :(

First try on ogura cake today! My personal rating for my ogura cake: 6 out of 10. Not so high but why? I'm not good in cracking egg, so I asked my brother to help me (although it's not a good choice). I need to separate the egg yolk from egg white, so I need a complete egg yolk so it won't mix with egg white. However, he failed two times, so my egg white contains a little little little egg yolk. I know if want to have good meringue, egg white cannot contain any water or oil (egg yolk) but I don't want to waste the eggs in the bowl. So, I just continue baking by using these egg whites. I tried my best to remove the egg yolks in it and the result is still "OK LA".

Here's my ORANGE OGURA CAKE:

Original recipe from here.
I didn't add cocoa powder in my cake.

Ingredient:
Egg yolk - 5 pcs
Whole egg - 1 pc
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Corn oil - 50g
Orange juice - 90g
Superfine flour - 70g
~~~
(Meringue)
Egg white - 5 pcs
Caster sugar - 70g
Vinegar - Few drops
Method:
1. Beat egg yolks, whole egg, salt, corn oil and orange juice till small bubbles appear.
2. Sift in flour, combine well.
3. Beat egg white with vinegar in another bowl, slowly add in sugar (divide into few portions), continue beating till soft peak form.
4. Fold in egg white mixture with egg yolk mixture.
5. Pour the mixture into cake mold. Knock the mold on table to remove big bubbles.
6. Bake it in a water bath at the temperature of 170C for 60 minutes.
7. Invert it immediately after done baking. Cut and serve after it cools.
