Hi, nice to meet you and welcome to my blog :D

Diary ღ 15 July 2016 ღ

I had my little Kuala Lumpur City Tour last week which is the Raya Holiday. First of all, let me write a review for the hotel I stayed. I will post about my trip when I'm free.

YY38 Hotel Review

I would like to rate this hotel in the following aspects:
Service            : 4.5 out of 5 stars
Cleanliness      : 3 out of 5 stars
Tidiness           : 5 out of 5 stars
Accessibility    : 3 out of 5 stars
Location          : 5 out of 5 stars
Value               : 3.5 out of 5 stars
Overall            : 4 out of 5 stars

1.    Service
The first day I reached the hotel, there was a problem with my agoda booking. The system stated that my booking was cancelled. I don’t know what’s wrong with it because this is the first time that I booked a hotel by using agoda.com. Anyway, the person-in-charge helped me to ask the agoda agent about it and the problem was solved. Their services are okayyyyyy but their slang are not professional as those who are trained at high-class hotels.

2.    Cleanliness
As what I’ve seen from the reviews at tripadvisor, there are lots of STAINS on curtains and bedsheet. You wouldn’t realise it at the first moment you enter the hotel. You will only realise it after you take a bath, sitting down and look around. The toilet is clean and they will keep it dry once they clean it. One more thing! I found lots of ants on my bed in the next morning! There’s also some ants in the toilet too! They just do basic cleaning. Can you lap the windows next time? Oops~

3.    Tidiness
The room looks very tidy! Maybe there’s less stuff so it doesn’t look so messy. Flat-screen TV hanging on the wall, telephone on the desk and what so ever. Everything is just in their right place and I have no complain about it.

4.    Accessibility
The things that are lack of in the hotel room are electric kettle and hair dryer. I always back to the hotel late after out for a trip, I can’t sleep with my wet hair after bath. Please provide these things next time.

5.    Location
Well, I think this is the greatest advantage of this hotel. You can go to the shopping malls easily by just walking. You just need to cross a road and shop lot to reach the Alor Street. For your information, Alor Street is one of the famous street in KL that sells variety food. The view from my room looks good.

6.    Value
It is quite worth to live here. However, I would like to try the other hotels around there next time. I will compare the hotels based on my opinions.

Okay, that’s all! Have a Great Day! You can put this hotel in your list when you’re planning to tour around KL next time!
*Will update my KL trip when I’m free.

WHAT?! My last baking was 20 days ago!
Busy with my part-time job :(

First try on ogura cake today! My personal rating for my ogura cake: 6 out of 10. Not so high but why? I'm not good in cracking egg, so I asked my brother to help me (although it's not a good choice). I need to separate the egg yolk from egg white, so I need a complete egg yolk so it won't mix with egg white. However, he failed two times, so my egg white contains a little little little egg yolk. I know if want to have good meringue, egg white cannot contain any water or oil (egg yolk) but I don't want to waste the eggs in the bowl. So, I just continue baking by using these egg whites. I tried my best to remove the egg yolks in it and the result is still "OK LA".

Here's my ORANGE OGURA CAKE:

I'm so happy today because my chiffon cupcakes were very successful!
Well, I want to finish most of my leftover ingredients during my 5 or 6 months holidays. However, I still need to buy some new ingredients in order to finish using them. If not what can I bake by using just these few things? Nobody will bake when I go for further study. So, I want to use them up before they expired.
Today, I finished my grated Parmesan cheese by adding to my chiffon cake to make Parmesan chiffon cupcakes.

Recipe from Nasi Lemak Lover - Sonia
The different thing is she used chiffon cake mold but I used paper cups.

First! Gather ingredients!

The first steam layered cake from me!
I wanna make this since long time ago but whenever I read the recipe- "12 eggs", I have no courage to try to make it. Once fail, 12 eggs wasted, lol! The layered cake I made today need 6 eggs only (approximately same with the amount of eggs needed in making chiffon cake). Suitable for 7"x7" mold.

Steam Nestum Layer Cake
Look at the photo above, how many star/s would you give out of 5 stars?

I made Tiramisu yesterday and I freeze it until the next day which is today. I did 4 changes compared to the original Tiramisu.
1) I used cream cheese instead of Mascarpone cheese.
2) I used saltcheese cracker instead of finger biscuits.
3) I used cocoa powder instead of coffee powder. (I don't drink coffee.)
4) It doesn't require egg. (I don't dare to eat uncooked egg.)
So, I named it as kiddy version of Tiramisu since caffeine is not suitable for kids but cocoa is! Tiramisu made of mascarpone cheese do not have strong cheesy smell, so I used Tatura cream cheese since its cheesy smell is not strong compared to the other brands. If not you will get tired of eating it once you eat too much and that's what we call “腻” in mandarin.

Konnichiwa!
My mom bought some Golden Churn salted butter. So, after class, I baked Japanese Parmesan Cheese Stick with my bestie. And, a lesson learnt from today's experience: Do not simply use salted butter! My Parmesan cheese is salty in taste, plus the salted butter...my cheese stick is kinda salty in the end.
My cheese sticks
My aunt ordered me to bake some cheese sticks after she tried the cheese sticks from Taka. So, I bought the ingredients from supermarket. I got the recipe from a kawaii Japanese blogger and this is the website of her blog: http://createeathappy.blogspot.com
Make delicious cookie with 4 simple main ingredients. Easy to make, taste nice too! Before that, I was worried that I can't find grated Parmesan cheese in my area but I found it at last. It's not cheap. 250g for RM20.50. Ouch! The picture below is the grated Parmesan cheese I bought, brand - Floridia, from Australia.

12 days left to Chinese New Year 2015!
Are you ready for it? Have you buy your new clothes? Have you clean your house?
I'm in the progress...
My headache is gone after I slept for so long. Oh yeah!
It tangled me for around 2 days. Yish! Resist to take Panadol! LOL

Feeling well~ Okay, it's time to bake!
[GOLDEN CORNFLAKES]

Just like golden coin in red cups, haha! This is honey cornflakes with a very simple recipe. I used Golden Churn butter for the first time! Last time I didn't use Golden Churn butter because I think I was still a beginner, shouldn't use such an expensive butter because it's wasting if I failed in baking. However, I had more than a year experience now, maybe my "level of baking" had upgraded. And yet, it's also the first time I used salted butter. I always use unsalted butter before this.

I was very satisfied with my golden cornflakes. It smells really nice! I can smell the smell of butter when I was mixing it with cornflakes, putting the cornflakes into cups and also baking it.

Planned to have a warm up for CNY which is around the corner today. I baked German cookie which is very very very popular on web recently. I saw lots of the bloggers and also friends on Facebook were making this cookie. I think the main reason of this recipe became so popular is due to its ingredient and also its easy steps. For my recipe, there are 5 ingredients and 4 steps ONLY! Have a look on my German cookies.

When I was gathering the ingredients, I realised that my milk powder expired, so I changed it to pure cocoa powder which my mom bought it from Sabah. That taste of the German cookie? Hmmm...the smell of cocoa and it melt easily once you put into mouth. However, it's too soft, crack into pieces easily if you hold it with too much force. So, you have to be soft enough. I think this is the disadvantage of my cookie. Have to get some lesson or additional knowledge about it so that it won't crack easily.
