When I was gathering the ingredients, I realised that my milk powder expired, so I changed it to pure cocoa powder which my mom bought it from Sabah. That taste of the German cookie? Hmmm...the smell of cocoa and it melt easily once you put into mouth. However, it's too soft, crack into pieces easily if you hold it with too much force. So, you have to be soft enough. I think this is the disadvantage of my cookie. Have to get some lesson or additional knowledge about it so that it won't crack easily.
I provided the recipe along with the step-by-step photos here.
Ingredient:
Butter - 100g
Icing sugar - 30g
Potato starch - 100g
Flour - 60g (I used superfine flour)
Cocoa powder - 1 tsp (You can use milk powder if you want the original flavour)
Method:
1. Leave the butter at room temperature, wait it to become soft. Beat it with sugar until the mixture looks paler in colour.
*Do not beat it for so long, just mix well. I beat for 5 minutes (not using electronic mixer).
2. Sieve the potato starch, flour and also cocoa powder, add them into the batter (1). Use hand to mix it well, a dough will be formed.
3. Make the shape you want. I made it into small balls and pressed them by using fork.
*Put it in the fridge for 30 minutes if the dough is too soft for you to make the shape.
4. Bake it with temperature of 150C for 20 minutes.
*You don't have to bake it till yellow in colour.
