Hi, nice to meet you and welcome to my blog :D

Diary ღ 11 February 2015 ღ

Konnichiwa!
My mom bought some Golden Churn salted butter. So, after class, I baked Japanese Parmesan Cheese Stick with my bestie. And, a lesson learnt from today's experience: Do not simply use salted butter! My Parmesan cheese is salty in taste, plus the salted butter...my cheese stick is kinda salty in the end.
My cheese sticks
My aunt ordered me to bake some cheese sticks after she tried the cheese sticks from Taka. So, I bought the ingredients from supermarket. I got the recipe from a kawaii Japanese blogger and this is the website of her blog: http://createeathappy.blogspot.com
Make delicious cookie with 4 simple main ingredients. Easy to make, taste nice too! Before that, I was worried that I can't find grated Parmesan cheese in my area but I found it at last. It's not cheap. 250g for RM20.50. Ouch! The picture below is the grated Parmesan cheese I bought, brand - Floridia, from Australia.

Original recipe is here.

I changed the temperature and also the time to bake it. It's because the shape and size of hers is bigger than mine. I tried to bake my cookies with 180C for 15 minutes, however, my cookies look dark in colour after baking, so I changed it to 170C (10 minutes).

【Japanese Parmesan Cheese Stick】

Ingredients: (I multiply all the ingredients by 4 and able to it's enough for 4 little boxes for CNY)
Unsalted butter - 100g
Flour - 150g
Grated Parmesan cheese - 50g
Caster sugar - 1 tsp
~~~
Beaten egg & grated Parmesan cheese (for decoration)
Method:
1. Cream the butter in a bowl. Add granulated sugar and mix well until white and fluffy.
2. Add grated Parmesan cheese and mix well.
3. Sift in cake flour, then mix well with a spatula.
4. Roll out the dough between two pieces of plastic wrap to 5mm (0.2 inch) thick.
5. Cut the dough into sticks shape using a bench scraper or a knife. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
6. Brush the dough with beaten egg and sprinkle with some grated Parmesan cheese if you like.
7. Bake at 170C for about 10 minutes. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet or a wire rack.
Step 1: Done mixing butter with sugar.
Step 2: Adding grated Parmesan cheese.
 Step 6: Brush the dough with beaten egg. (So it looks nicer after baking it)
Step 6: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese!
How it looks after baking. Yum yum!
itadakimasu いただきます!!!
